I have been in financial services for over 25 years, and have spent the last 17 years in consultancy. I’ve worked with Gary and the team at Enterprise Learning as a Principal Associate since 2005. I originally trained as a Certified Accountant, before changing career path to hold sales, management and training positions at major firms within the U.K. financial services sector, including Prudential Assurance and London & Manchester Group.
During my consultancy career, I have worked with RBS, Cooperative bank, St. James’s Place, Lloyds Banking Group, Openwork, RSM Tenon and many others to help them deal with the ever-changing regulatory landscape, and assisting firms in providing consistently good customer outcomes.
My most recent focus has been in working with firms to streamline and simplify their policies, standards, guidance and processes. These have resulted in some major benefits for clients, particularly around generating good customer outcomes by reducing ambiguity and providing clear expectations for all concerned.
I have led several of Enterprise Learning’s recent projects, including:
- Simplification of the advice policy and standards for a high net worth advisory firm, covering all aspects of financial planning
- Creation of an online mortgage advice hub, a one-stop shop for all aspects of support for mortgage advisers for a major UK retail bank
- Design, delivery and implementation of new standards and guidance for the secured and unsecured arrears management functions of a major UK retail bank
- Overseeing the delivery of a major retail bank’s MMR training programme for over 5500 staff
I hold the Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers, and the ‘Taxations & Trusts’ paper of the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate. I published a white paper on Firms’ readiness for the Pensions Freedom regulations in 2015.
