Gary Storer
Gary is the founding Director of Enterprise Learning, which he established in 2002.

Enterprise Learning is a training and operational change consultancy which specialises in areas of risk management and financial services regulation. Gary has over 15 year’s experience of working in the financial sector, specialising in leading change projects within the regulatory environment.

Prior to establishing Enterprise Learning, Gary was a Managing Consultant in KPMG’s Technical and Regulatory Practice and led some of KPMG’s largest technical and regulatory projects for financial services clients.

Since establishing Enterprise Learning, Gary has led projects helping banks, insurers and investment firms identify and implement significant improvements driven by issues such as operational risks and/or regulatory issues across areas as diverse as customer services, financial advice and sales, compliance and risk monitoring and organisational governance.

In addition to his consulting experience, Gary held a number of senior organisational change positions in major financial services firms including Gartmore Investment Management, NatWest Group and Legal & General. Gary is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a Masters in Business Administration. Gary speaks and writes on the issues of risk management and organisational change.

Sophie Espinasse
Sophie is a Principal Consultant with Enterprise Learning and has worked within the Financial Services sector, with particular experience of training and development, since 1990.

She is skilled in project management, training design and delivery, mentoring and assessing and has a proven ability to design and deliver innovative courses and workshops across the Financial Services spectrum.

Clients have included Inter-Alliance, HBOS, Millfield, Legal & General and The Lifetime Group. Examples of recent work undertaken include the design and implementation of training and assessment programmes to support the launch of various new propositions for the IFA division of a major life company, including platform, SIPP and estate planning solutions; the design and implementation of a service to support and enable IFAs to transition existing investment business to a Wrap platform; the design of a range of Suitable Advice Guides covering a wide range of investment and estate planning strategies.

Sophie is AFPC qualified and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Planners (STEP)

Louise Allison
Louise is a Prinicple Associate of Enterprise Learning and has worked as a consultant in the financial sector since 1998, with particular experience of supporting clients establish and manage regulatory business review projects, sales quality units and customer services teams.

Clients have included KPMG, NatWest, Royal London, AMP, Equitable Life and Prudential. Work undertaken have included project implementation and set-up, resourcing, training needs analysis, training design and delivery, project management, team management, business review process design and delivery, selection and assessment centre design and delivery, quality assurance, risk management.

From 1990-1998 Louise was an Independent Financial Adviser with Cavendish Insurance Consultants where her responsibilities included providing full financial advice to an extensive client base and practice operational responsibilities for the practice.

Cheryl Harris
Cheryl is a Senior Associate of Enterprise Learning and has worked within Financial Services, specialising in training and development since 1987.

She has worked in many sectors of the industry including retail, investment management and wealth management. She was Head of Training and Gartmore Investment Management and a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Financial Advisory Service managing projects across the industry.

Skilled in training design and delivery and project management, she has a specialist knowledge of designing and implementing Training & Competence Schemes. Clients have included Old Mutual, Abbey, the FSA, Legal & General, First State, CIS and Citigroup.

Andrew Thompsett
Andy is a Principal Associate of Enterprise Learning with 23 years experience of the Financial Sector. For the last 10 years he has provided project management and change consultancy to the Financial Services Industry, initiating managing and delivering a range of sales development, change, business improvement and training projects helping clients bring about increased efficiency and improved business performance. Clients have included Norwich Union, The Lifetime Group, Legal & General, HBOS, the FSA, and CFS.

Recent projects include developing competence standards for a major industry body, leading development of Liquidity Reform training for a large client, managing a process re-engineering and operational turnaround programme for a major life insurer and project managing the design and implementation of an asset transitioning service for IFAs to move existing business to a WRAP platform.

Andy was awarded Best Compliance Trainer at the 2008 Compliance Register awards.

Professor Amin Rajan
Principal Associate. Specialising in leadership and manpower studies in financial and professional services, Amin was formerly an economic advisor at the National Economic Development Office, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and the Institute of Manpower Studies.

  • Visiting Professor at the City University Business School and London Guildhall University.
  • Chairman of International Currency Exchange Plc and Lenlyn Holdings Plc.
  • Appointed by the Government to sit on the Council for Excellence in Management and Leadership.

He has also carried out numerous studies for the UK Government and international bodies, and acted as a consultant to companies such as ABN-AMRO, Aegon Group, Barclays Plc, BP Amoco, British Telecom, Cisco Systems, EDS Ltd, Fiat, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, IBM, ICI, ICL, Legal & General Group plc, Lloyds TSB Group Plc, Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, NatWest Group, OKKOBANK, Prudential Assurance, Royal SunAlliance, Shell, Storehouse plc and UBS.

As well as appearing on radio and television, he regularly contributes feature articles to the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, the London Evening Standard and other prominent broadsheets and journals. He has published numerous books and articles on leadership, business cultures, socio-economic forecasting, global developments, new technologies, training and Europe. He has presented the results of his work at numerous major events in the UK, USA and continental Europe, always with wide interest from the international media.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was invited to give three major public lectures in the UK:

  • the Jean Monet Lecture in 1992
  • the Royal Society of Arts Manufacturing Lecture in 1996
  • the Royal Society of Arts Leadership Lecture in 2000.

In 1998 he was awarded the Aspen InstituteÍs Prize in leadership. It is a subject on which he has done extensive research involving some of todayÍs outstanding business leaders. In the resulting publications, he has developed a close link between vision, values, cultures and structures. His work has proved so influential that he now provides leadership coaching to well known CEOs and their boards.

Liz Wytchard
Liz, a Senior Associate with Enterprise Learning, has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, of which, the last 13 have been in senior regulatory compliance roles. Prior to forming her own consultancy firm in September 2002, Liz was Compliance Officer/Compliance Manager for Hambro Assured plc for nearly 10 years, a regulatory consultant for KPMG for 2½ years (working for the FSA and various regulated firms) and Compliance Director, Supervision for Legal and General Group. In 1988 Liz was one of the first Enforcement Officers for the newly- formed Lautro which gave her a valuable insight into the early days of the regulation for investment business. This followed several years working on life and general insurance matters for Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society, time as a broker consultant for Sun Alliance following a sound grounding in both life and general insurance with Ecclesiastical Insurance.

Her experience of compliance from all sides – regulated, regulator and consultant – brings a unique blend of skills to her clients providing regulatory assistance and added value in many areas from strategy to practical hands on day to day compliance support.

An active participant in the regulation community, Liz is Deputy Chairman and Secretary for the London City Compliance Institute, Minutes Secretary for the Compliance Officers Discussion Group and has recently been invited to rejoin the ILAG Regulations Committee, having previously been a member for a number of years.

Liz is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) and Fellow of the Compliance Institute (FCol).

THE ENTERPRISE LEARNING ASSOCIATE FACULTY
Enterprise Learning's Associate Faculty consists of learning and development specialists plus operational and process improvement specialists with at least five years’ experience of financial services, often in line and customer facing roles.

Regulation and Advice
The focus of our faculty knowledge and experience is the retail regulatory environment and our associates have a depth of understanding in how to apply regulatory requirements in a cost effective approach that satisfies the client and the regulator whilst helping your business grow and develop.

A specific area of expertise is in Advice Quality, where our Associates’ experience ranges across advice standards, advisory skills, managements skills, operational processes, systems and controls.

Learning and Development
Areas of expertise include learning design, technical and regulatory training, competence development and assessment, sales and product training, management coaching and organisation development, all in a financial and professional services context.

Operations and Process Improvement
Areas of expertise include process analysis, design and improvement techniques, project management, business processing, claims handling, procedures writing, case review, all in a financial and professional services context.
